On This Day
October 18 belongs to Georgia Redmayne, whose superb 98 off 67 balls for the Brisbane Heat against the Melbourne Renegades in the 2022 WBBL stands as the finest batting effort recorded on this date. She found able support from Grace Harris, who chipped in with 65 from 50 as the Heat flexed their muscle against the Renegades.
Three years earlier in 2019, the Sydney derby lit up the day, with Ellyse Perry blazing 81 off 48 for the Sixers against the Thunder, while Alex Blackwell replied with 56 off 38 and Sarah Aley claimed 3 for 28.
With the ball, Deandra Dottin's 4 for 22 for West Indies against New Zealand in 2024 leads a strong bowling cast that also features KL Rahul's IPL 77.
