17 October
Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On This Day in 2020, Shikhar Dhawan lit up the IPL with a magnificent 101 off 58 balls for Delhi Capitals against Chennai Super Kings, a century that stands tall among the finest knocks on this date in T20 history.
The same year offered another IPL highlight as Chris Morris delivered a devastating spell for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Rajasthan Royals, claiming 4 wickets for just 26 runs.
The date has also produced memorable international efforts. In 2022, Sikandar Raza struck 82 off 48 for Zimbabwe against Ireland, while 2024 saw South Africa's Anne Bosch make 74 off 48 against Australia and Kusal Mendis score 68 off 50 for Sri Lanka against West Indies. Martin Guptill's 67 off 46 for New Zealand against Zimbabwe in 2011 rounds out a rich day of T20 batting.
