19 October
Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On This Day in T20 cricket, Rachel Priest produced a Hobart Hurricanes masterclass in the 2021 WBBL, smashing 107 off just 68 balls against the Melbourne Stars. It was a complete team effort, too, with Ruth Johnston tearing through the Stars line-up for figures of 4 for 8 to cap a memorable day for the Hurricanes.
The WBBL dominates the date's highlights. Sophie Devine (72 off 45) powered the Adelaide Strikers in 2019, while Ashleigh Gardner matched that with 72 off 44 for the Sydney Sixers in 2023. Annabel Sutherland claimed 4 for 27 the same year.
Over in the men's game, Jos Buttler struck 70 off 48 for Rajasthan Royals in the 2020 IPL, and Alzarri Joseph grabbed 4 for 16 against Zimbabwe in 2022.
