19 July in cricket

19 July

Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.

On This Day in 2014, Marlon Samuels lit up the Caribbean Premier League with a commanding 84 off 54 balls for the Antigua Hawksbills against the Barbados Royals. In a fascinating personal duel, Shoaib Malik responded with 72 from 50 balls for the Royals, while Ravi Rampaul claimed four wickets for 32 to keep his side in the contest.

The same date belonged to the bowlers too. Krishmar Santokie was outstanding for the Guyana Amazon Warriors, taking four wickets for just 11 runs against the St Lucia Zouks in 2014.

Years later in 2024, Major League Cricket produced its own fireworks as Steve Smith struck 57 off 40 for Washington Freedom, with Rachin Ravindra's four for 16 sinking the Texas Super Kings.

Coverage & definitionsCricsheet ball-by-ball · matches played on this date (UTC) · data through 24 October 2026Show ▾

Source. Ball-by-ball data from Cricsheet. New matches are loaded from Cricsheet twice a day (10:00 and 22:00 UTC), typically a day or two after a match is published there.

Internationals. T20 internationals are included only when both teams are ICC full members. Fixtures against Associate nations (e.g. Netherlands, Scotland, Nepal, USA) are not in the dataset, so international totals for players who faced them are lower than their full career figures. Afghanistan men's internationals are absent for a different reason: Cricsheet has withheld every match involving the Afghanistan men's team since 14 November 2024, so none of them can be loaded. Every full member's totals are lower by the matches they played against Afghanistan, and Afghanistan men's players do not appear at all. Afghanistan women's matches are unaffected.

Leagues. Leagues: IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, SA20, MLC, ILT20, BPL, LPL, WBBL, WPL — full history of each. Domestic T20 competitions outside this list (e.g. the Blast, SMAT, Super Smash) are not included.

Exclusions. Super overs are excluded from every total. A match abandoned without a ball bowled has no ball-by-ball file and is not in the dataset, even where a toss took place and official records credit the named players with an appearance. M can therefore sit one or two below a player's official career figure. Match appearances (M) come from the playing XI in each match file, so a match where a player neither batted nor bowled still counts as an appearance. Where M is missing, that player's appearances have not been loaded yet.

"Best" innings and spells are ranked by runs and by wickets then runs conceded; a quiet date here is only quiet within this dataset.
