1 July in cricket
1 July
Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On this day in 2024, Mark Chapman produced the standout knock, blasting 91 from 61 balls for the Dambulla Sixers against the Kandy Falcons in the LPL. It remains the highest score recorded on July 1 in this collection of T20 performances.
The date also belongs to some brilliant bowling. Back in 2012, Sunil Narine spun a web for West Indies against New Zealand, taking 4 for 12 in a mesmerising display of control. Nine years later in 2021, Dwayne Bravo matched the four-wicket haul, claiming 4 for 19 for West Indies against South Africa.
Elsewhere, Hashim Amla stroked 81 off 54 for Trinbago Knight Riders in the 2016 CPL, while Shimron Hetmyer smashed 78 from just 37 balls in the 2025 MLC.

Coverage & definitionsCricsheet ball-by-ball · matches played on this date (UTC) · data through 24 October 2026Show ▾
Source. Ball-by-ball data from Cricsheet. New matches are loaded from Cricsheet twice a day (10:00 and 22:00 UTC), typically a day or two after a match is published there.
Internationals. T20 internationals are included only when both teams are ICC full members. Fixtures against Associate nations (e.g. Netherlands, Scotland, Nepal, USA) are not in the dataset, so international totals for players who faced them are lower than their full career figures. Afghanistan men's internationals are absent for a different reason: Cricsheet has withheld every match involving the Afghanistan men's team since 14 November 2024, so none of them can be loaded. Every full member's totals are lower by the matches they played against Afghanistan, and Afghanistan men's players do not appear at all. Afghanistan women's matches are unaffected.
Leagues. Leagues: IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, SA20, MLC, ILT20, BPL, LPL, WBBL, WPL — full history of each. Domestic T20 competitions outside this list (e.g. the Blast, SMAT, Super Smash) are not included.
Exclusions. Super overs are excluded from every total. A match abandoned without a ball bowled has no ball-by-ball file and is not in the dataset, even where a toss took place and official records credit the named players with an appearance. M can therefore sit one or two below a player's official career figure. Match appearances (M) come from the playing XI in each match file, so a match where a player neither batted nor bowled still counts as an appearance. Where M is missing, that player's appearances have not been loaded yet.
"Best" innings and spells are ranked by runs and by wickets then runs conceded; a quiet date here is only quiet within this dataset.
