13 June in cricket
13 June
Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On this day in 2009, Umar Gul produced one of T20 cricket's most devastating spells, claiming 5 wickets for just 6 runs as Pakistan tore through New Zealand. It remains a benchmark for fast-bowling precision on the game's biggest stage.
The date has since become a graveyard for batting line-ups. In 2025, Rwanda's MD Bimenyimana matched Gul's remarkable figures, taking 5 wickets for 6 runs against Tanzania, while Tanzania's AS Qwele replied with 4 for 12 in the same contest.
With the bat, Canada's Pargat Singh lit up 2025 with a blistering 89 off 44 balls against the Cayman Islands. Mohammad Rizwan's measured 82 from 56 for Multan Sultans in the 2021 PSL added a touch of class to a memorable date.

Coverage & definitionsCricsheet ball-by-ball · matches played on this date (UTC) · data through 2 November 2026Show ▾
Source. Ball-by-ball data from Cricsheet. New matches are loaded from Cricsheet twice a day (10:00 and 22:00 UTC), typically a day or two after a match is published there.
Internationals. T20 internationals are included only when both teams are ICC full members. Fixtures against Associate nations (e.g. Netherlands, Scotland, Nepal, USA) are not in the dataset, so international totals for players who faced them are lower than their full career figures. Afghanistan men's internationals are absent for a different reason: Cricsheet has withheld every match involving the Afghanistan men's team since 14 November 2024, so none of them can be loaded. Every full member's totals are lower by the matches they played against Afghanistan, and Afghanistan men's players do not appear at all. Afghanistan women's matches are unaffected.
Leagues. Leagues: IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, SA20, MLC, ILT20, BPL, LPL, WBBL, WPL — full history of each. Domestic T20 competitions outside this list (e.g. the Blast, SMAT, Super Smash) are not included.
Exclusions. Super overs are excluded from every total. A match abandoned without a ball bowled has no ball-by-ball file and is not in the dataset, even where a toss took place and official records credit the named players with an appearance. M can therefore sit one or two below a player's official career figure. Match appearances (M) come from the playing XI in each match file, so a match where a player neither batted nor bowled still counts as an appearance. Where M is missing, that player's appearances have not been loaded yet.
"Best" innings and spells are ranked by runs and by wickets then runs conceded; a quiet date here is only quiet within this dataset.
