Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.

On This Day, October 15, 2021, Faf du Plessis produced a masterclass for Chennai Super Kings against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, striking 86 from 59 balls in a classy display of top-order batting that underlined his pedigree in the format.

The same date in 2022 belonged to Sydney Sixers in the WBBL, where bat and ball combined beautifully against Adelaide Strikers. Suzie Bates anchored the innings with 82 from 67 deliveries, before Sophie Ecclestone ran through the opposition with sensational figures of 4 for 17.

Earlier, in 2011, Brendon McCullum lit up a T20I against Zimbabwe with a brisk 81 from just 46 balls for New Zealand, while Renuka Singh's miserly 3 for 5 against Sri Lanka in 2022 remains a standout spell.
