26 September

Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.

On this day in 2025, Pathum Nissanka lit up a T20I against India with a superb 107 off 58 balls, a century that stands as the finest batting effort recorded on this date. It remains a landmark knock for Sri Lanka against one of the game's fiercest rivals.

The date has also produced memorable all-round drama in franchise cricket. Back in 2019, Hayden Walsh Jr. tore through Trinbago Knight Riders with figures of 5 for 19 for the Barbados Royals, while teammate JP Duminy blazed 65 off just 20 balls in the same CPL contest.

Two years later, the 2021 IPL clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians saw Harshal Patel claim 4 for 17 and Yuzvendra Chahal add 3 for 11.
