25 September in cricket
25 September
Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On this day in 2022, Mohammad Rizwan produced a masterful anchor for Pakistan against England, compiling 88 from 67 balls to headline the T20 performances recorded on September 25. It stands as the standout knock across the years on this date, a reminder of Rizwan's calm authority at the top of the order.
The date has long favoured aggressive strokeplay, too. Back in 2012, Shakib Al Hasan struck 84 off just 54 balls for Bangladesh against Pakistan, while in the same fixture Imran Nazir blazed 72 from only 36 deliveries.
With the ball, Titas Sadhu was near-unplayable for India in 2023, claiming 3 wickets for just 6 runs against Sri Lanka, the most economical of several three-wicket hauls delivered on this memorable September day.
