On this day in 2024, Orla Prendergast lit up the T20I stage for Ireland against England, blazing 80 off just 51 balls in a standout display of top-order batting. Her innings remains the finest scored on September 15 in T20 history, a testament to her class against one of the game's strongest sides.
The date has long favoured aggressive strokeplay. Back in 2022, Quinton de Kock struck 74 from 43 for the Barbados Royals against the Jamaica Tallawahs in the CPL, while Evin Lewis went even quicker in 2019, smashing 65 off 30 for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
With the ball, Danielle Hazell was the pick, claiming 4 for 12 for England against West Indies in 2012, a masterful spell of controlled bowling.
