8 September
Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On This Day, the CPL served up a batting masterclass from Corbin Bosch, who blazed 81 off just 50 balls for the Barbados Royals against the St Lucia Kings in 2022. It remains the standout knock recorded on 9/8 in T20 history, a punishing effort that outshone a strong field.
The same date has produced plenty of runs against St Lucia opposition. In 2021, Brandon King struck 77 off 57 for the Guyana Amazon Warriors, while 2019 saw Lendl Simmons crack 63 off 39 for Trinbago Knight Riders against the Zouks.
With the ball, Bangladesh's spinners dominated in 2021, as Nasum Ahmed claimed 4 for 10 and Mustafizur Rahman took 4 for 12 to throttle New Zealand in a memorable T20I display.
