Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On this day in 2020, Tom Banton lit up England's T20I clash with Pakistan, smashing 71 from just 42 balls to headline the day's batting honours. It remains the standout knock of any August 28 in T20 history, a fluent effort that underlined Banton's promise at the top of the order.
Two years later, the same fixture in a different flavour saw India's bowlers dominate Pakistan. Bhuvneshwar Kumar claimed 4 for 26, superbly supported by Hardik Pandya's 3 for 25, a combination that squeezed the run flow at both ends.
The CPL has also delivered on this date, none better than Imran Tahir's 4 for 22 for the Guyana Amazon Warriors against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2018.
