30 July in cricket
30 July
Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On this day in 2023, Nicolas Pooran produced a stunning display of hitting for MI New York against the Seattle Orcas in Major League Cricket. The West Indian left-hander blazed 137 off just 55 deliveries, one of the most explosive knocks the tournament has witnessed.
Pooran's fireworks overshadowed a fine reply from Quinton de Kock, who struck 87 from 52 balls for Seattle. On the same day, MI New York's Rashid Khan was equally destructive with the ball, claiming 3 for 9 against the Orcas.
Elsewhere, Suzie Bates anchored New Zealand with 91 off 64 against South Africa in 2022, while Sophie Ecclestone's 3 for 25 shone for England versus Sri Lanka. In 2013, Shoaib Malik's 78 and Kieron Pollard's 3 for 15 lit up the CPL.

Coverage & definitionsCricsheet ball-by-ball · matches played on this date (UTC) · data through 24 October 2026Show ▾
Source. Ball-by-ball data from Cricsheet. New matches are loaded from Cricsheet twice a day (10:00 and 22:00 UTC), typically a day or two after a match is published there.
Internationals. T20 internationals are included only when both teams are ICC full members. Fixtures against Associate nations (e.g. Netherlands, Scotland, Nepal, USA) are not in the dataset, so international totals for players who faced them are lower than their full career figures. Afghanistan men's internationals are absent for a different reason: Cricsheet has withheld every match involving the Afghanistan men's team since 14 November 2024, so none of them can be loaded. Every full member's totals are lower by the matches they played against Afghanistan, and Afghanistan men's players do not appear at all. Afghanistan women's matches are unaffected.
Leagues. Leagues: IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, SA20, MLC, ILT20, BPL, LPL, WBBL, WPL — full history of each. Domestic T20 competitions outside this list (e.g. the Blast, SMAT, Super Smash) are not included.
Exclusions. Super overs are excluded from every total. A match abandoned without a ball bowled has no ball-by-ball file and is not in the dataset, even where a toss took place and official records credit the named players with an appearance. M can therefore sit one or two below a player's official career figure. Match appearances (M) come from the playing XI in each match file, so a match where a player neither batted nor bowled still counts as an appearance. Where M is missing, that player's appearances have not been loaded yet.
"Best" innings and spells are ranked by runs and by wickets then runs conceded; a quiet date here is only quiet within this dataset.
