23 July in cricket
23 July
Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On This Day in T20 cricket, Dwayne Smith produced a memorable exhibition of clean hitting for the Barbados Royals against the St Lucia Zouks in the 2014 CPL. Smith smashed 110 from just 69 deliveries, a blistering century that anchored his side's innings and remains one of the standout batting displays associated with this date.
A year later, on 23 July 2015, Dwayne Bravo turned in a spellbinding bowling performance for the Trinbago Knight Riders against the Jamaica Tallawahs, claiming five wickets for just 23 runs to dismantle the opposition.
In the same fixture, Darren Bravo added an accomplished 86 from 63 balls, ensuring the Knight Riders enjoyed a complete team display across both departments in that CPL clash.

Coverage & definitionsCricsheet ball-by-ball · matches played on this date (UTC) · data through 24 October 2026Show ▾
Source. Ball-by-ball data from Cricsheet. New matches are loaded from Cricsheet twice a day (10:00 and 22:00 UTC), typically a day or two after a match is published there.
Internationals. T20 internationals are included only when both teams are ICC full members. Fixtures against Associate nations (e.g. Netherlands, Scotland, Nepal, USA) are not in the dataset, so international totals for players who faced them are lower than their full career figures. Afghanistan men's internationals are absent for a different reason: Cricsheet has withheld every match involving the Afghanistan men's team since 14 November 2024, so none of them can be loaded. Every full member's totals are lower by the matches they played against Afghanistan, and Afghanistan men's players do not appear at all. Afghanistan women's matches are unaffected.
Leagues. Leagues: IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, SA20, MLC, ILT20, BPL, LPL, WBBL, WPL — full history of each. Domestic T20 competitions outside this list (e.g. the Blast, SMAT, Super Smash) are not included.
Exclusions. Super overs are excluded from every total. A match abandoned without a ball bowled has no ball-by-ball file and is not in the dataset, even where a toss took place and official records credit the named players with an appearance. M can therefore sit one or two below a player's official career figure. Match appearances (M) come from the playing XI in each match file, so a match where a player neither batted nor bowled still counts as an appearance. Where M is missing, that player's appearances have not been loaded yet.
"Best" innings and spells are ranked by runs and by wickets then runs conceded; a quiet date here is only quiet within this dataset.
