15 July in cricket

15 July

Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.

On This Day, July 15 delivered a Lanka Premier League thriller in 2024 as Kushal Janith Perera lit up the Dambulla Sixers' innings against the Kandy Falcons. The explosive left-hander blazed 74 from just 40 balls, the standout batting effort of the date in T20 history.

The Falcons had their own hero in Andre Fletcher, who struck 60 off 34, while Wanindu Hasaranga claimed four wickets for 35. For the Sixers, Dushan Hemantha's tidy 3 for 14 backed up Perera's fireworks.

Elsewhere in 2024 LPL action, Matheesha Pathirana was the pick of the bowlers with a superb 4 for 20 for the Colombo Strikers against the Galle Marvels. Major League Cricket also featured, with Matthew Short's 56 off 32 for the San Francisco Unicorns.

Coverage & definitionsCricsheet ball-by-ball · matches played on this date (UTC) · data through 24 October 2026Show ▾

Source. Ball-by-ball data from Cricsheet. New matches are loaded from Cricsheet twice a day (10:00 and 22:00 UTC), typically a day or two after a match is published there.

Internationals. T20 internationals are included only when both teams are ICC full members. Fixtures against Associate nations (e.g. Netherlands, Scotland, Nepal, USA) are not in the dataset, so international totals for players who faced them are lower than their full career figures. Afghanistan men's internationals are absent for a different reason: Cricsheet has withheld every match involving the Afghanistan men's team since 14 November 2024, so none of them can be loaded. Every full member's totals are lower by the matches they played against Afghanistan, and Afghanistan men's players do not appear at all. Afghanistan women's matches are unaffected.

Leagues. Leagues: IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, SA20, MLC, ILT20, BPL, LPL, WBBL, WPL — full history of each. Domestic T20 competitions outside this list (e.g. the Blast, SMAT, Super Smash) are not included.

Exclusions. Super overs are excluded from every total. A match abandoned without a ball bowled has no ball-by-ball file and is not in the dataset, even where a toss took place and official records credit the named players with an appearance. M can therefore sit one or two below a player's official career figure. Match appearances (M) come from the playing XI in each match file, so a match where a player neither batted nor bowled still counts as an appearance. Where M is missing, that player's appearances have not been loaded yet.

"Best" innings and spells are ranked by runs and by wickets then runs conceded; a quiet date here is only quiet within this dataset.
