12 July
Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On this day in 2019, Paul Stirling produced a blistering knock to headline the date's action, smashing 83 off just 36 balls for Ireland against Zimbabwe. The opener's assault set the tone, and he found the perfect ally in Mark Adair, who claimed 4 for 40 to complete a memorable Irish outing.
The date has long favoured explosive batting. Back in 2015, Brad Hodge's rapid 65 off 30 balls lit up the CPL for the Guyana Amazon Warriors against the Jamaica Tallawahs, a match also defined by Ronsford Beaton's stunning 4 for 9.
More recently, Chamari Atapattu (80 off 47) starred for Sri Lanka against New Zealand in 2023, while Shafali Verma's 75 off 41 sparkled for India against England in 2025.

Coverage & definitionsCricsheet ball-by-ball · matches played on this date (UTC) · data through 24 October 2026Show ▾
Source. Ball-by-ball data from Cricsheet. New matches are loaded from Cricsheet twice a day (10:00 and 22:00 UTC), typically a day or two after a match is published there.
Internationals. T20 internationals are included only when both teams are ICC full members. Fixtures against Associate nations (e.g. Netherlands, Scotland, Nepal, USA) are not in the dataset, so international totals for players who faced them are lower than their full career figures. Afghanistan men's internationals are absent for a different reason: Cricsheet has withheld every match involving the Afghanistan men's team since 14 November 2024, so none of them can be loaded. Every full member's totals are lower by the matches they played against Afghanistan, and Afghanistan men's players do not appear at all. Afghanistan women's matches are unaffected.
Leagues. Leagues: IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, SA20, MLC, ILT20, BPL, LPL, WBBL, WPL — full history of each. Domestic T20 competitions outside this list (e.g. the Blast, SMAT, Super Smash) are not included.
Exclusions. Super overs are excluded from every total. A match abandoned without a ball bowled has no ball-by-ball file and is not in the dataset, even where a toss took place and official records credit the named players with an appearance. M can therefore sit one or two below a player's official career figure. Match appearances (M) come from the playing XI in each match file, so a match where a player neither batted nor bowled still counts as an appearance. Where M is missing, that player's appearances have not been loaded yet.
"Best" innings and spells are ranked by runs and by wickets then runs conceded; a quiet date here is only quiet within this dataset.
