7 July in cricket
7 July
Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On this day in 2024, Abhishek Sharma announced himself on the international stage in style, smashing a blistering 100 off just 47 balls for India against Zimbabwe. The left-hander's maiden T20I century lit up the contest, and he found able support from Ruturaj Gaikwad, who chipped in with 77 off 47. With the ball, Avesh Khan complemented the batting fireworks by claiming 3 wickets for just 15 runs against the same opposition.
The date has long been a happy one for big performances. Back in 2022, Hardik Pandya produced the standout bowling display, taking 4 for 33 for India against England. In 2015, South Africa's trio of Eddie Leie, Kyle Abbott and Aaron Phangiso each grabbed three wickets against Bangladesh in a memorable collective effort.

Coverage & definitionsCricsheet ball-by-ball · matches played on this date (UTC) · data through 24 October 2026Show ▾
Source. Ball-by-ball data from Cricsheet. New matches are loaded from Cricsheet twice a day (10:00 and 22:00 UTC), typically a day or two after a match is published there.
Internationals. T20 internationals are included only when both teams are ICC full members. Fixtures against Associate nations (e.g. Netherlands, Scotland, Nepal, USA) are not in the dataset, so international totals for players who faced them are lower than their full career figures. Afghanistan men's internationals are absent for a different reason: Cricsheet has withheld every match involving the Afghanistan men's team since 14 November 2024, so none of them can be loaded. Every full member's totals are lower by the matches they played against Afghanistan, and Afghanistan men's players do not appear at all. Afghanistan women's matches are unaffected.
Leagues. Leagues: IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, SA20, MLC, ILT20, BPL, LPL, WBBL, WPL — full history of each. Domestic T20 competitions outside this list (e.g. the Blast, SMAT, Super Smash) are not included.
Exclusions. Super overs are excluded from every total. A match abandoned without a ball bowled has no ball-by-ball file and is not in the dataset, even where a toss took place and official records credit the named players with an appearance. M can therefore sit one or two below a player's official career figure. Match appearances (M) come from the playing XI in each match file, so a match where a player neither batted nor bowled still counts as an appearance. Where M is missing, that player's appearances have not been loaded yet.
"Best" innings and spells are ranked by runs and by wickets then runs conceded; a quiet date here is only quiet within this dataset.
