20 June in cricket

20 June

Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.

On this day in 2018, Suzie Bates produced a masterclass against South Africa, blazing 124 from just 66 balls in a T20I to underline her status as one of the format's finest. It was an innings of authority and aggression, and teammate Hayley Jensen chipped in with 3 for 28 to round out New Zealand's day.

The same date in 2018 also saw Tammy Beaumont light up another fixture against South Africa, smashing 116 off 52 deliveries for England in a stunning display of striking.

Years earlier, in 2016, India's bowlers ruled this date as Barinder Sran claimed 4 for 10 and Jasprit Bumrah backed him up with 3 for 11 against Zimbabwe, a ruthless combined effort with the ball.

Coverage & definitionsCricsheet ball-by-ball · matches played on this date (UTC) · data through 24 October 2026Show ▾

Source. Ball-by-ball data from Cricsheet. New matches are loaded from Cricsheet twice a day (10:00 and 22:00 UTC), typically a day or two after a match is published there.

Internationals. T20 internationals are included only when both teams are ICC full members. Fixtures against Associate nations (e.g. Netherlands, Scotland, Nepal, USA) are not in the dataset, so international totals for players who faced them are lower than their full career figures. Afghanistan men's internationals are absent for a different reason: Cricsheet has withheld every match involving the Afghanistan men's team since 14 November 2024, so none of them can be loaded. Every full member's totals are lower by the matches they played against Afghanistan, and Afghanistan men's players do not appear at all. Afghanistan women's matches are unaffected.

Leagues. Leagues: IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, SA20, MLC, ILT20, BPL, LPL, WBBL, WPL — full history of each. Domestic T20 competitions outside this list (e.g. the Blast, SMAT, Super Smash) are not included.

Exclusions. Super overs are excluded from every total. A match abandoned without a ball bowled has no ball-by-ball file and is not in the dataset, even where a toss took place and official records credit the named players with an appearance. M can therefore sit one or two below a player's official career figure. Match appearances (M) come from the playing XI in each match file, so a match where a player neither batted nor bowled still counts as an appearance. Where M is missing, that player's appearances have not been loaded yet.

"Best" innings and spells are ranked by runs and by wickets then runs conceded; a quiet date here is only quiet within this dataset.
