Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On this day in 2022, Sharmarh Brooks lit up the Caribbean Premier League with a blistering century for the Jamaica Tallawahs against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Brooks smashed an unbeaten 109 off just 52 deliveries, a knock that stands tall as one of the finest T20 innings played on September 28.
The date has been kind to entertainers over the years. In 2020, Ishan Kishan fell agonisingly short of three figures, making 99 off 58 balls for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, while Faf du Plessis struck 92 off 59 for St Lucia Kings in 2024.
With the ball, Anisa Mohammed produced a gem in 2018, claiming 5 for 24 for West Indies against South Africa — a standout spin masterclass to round off a memorable date.
