26 August
Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.
On This Day in T20 cricket, August 26 has long belonged to the Caribbean Premier League, and its finest hour came in 2017 when Brendon McCullum lit up the competition for Trinbago Knight Riders. The former New Zealand captain blazed 91 off 62 balls against the Jamaica Tallawahs, a knock that anchored the Knight Riders' effort on the date.
The occasion also brought other memorable displays. Kyle Mayers struck 85 from 59 for the Barbados Royals against the Tallawahs in 2020, while 2025 served up a battle between St Lucia and Guyana, with Ackeem Auguste (73 off 35) and Romario Shepherd (73 off 34) trading blows.
With the ball, Khary Pierre's 4 for 20 for St Lucia Kings against Trinbago in 2023 stands out.
