10 August in cricket

10 August

Dates follow UTC, the same clock as our daily posts.

On this day in 2018, Andre Russell produced one of the CPL's most explosive innings, smashing 121 from just 49 balls for the Jamaica Tallawahs against Trinbago Knight Riders. It was a devastating display of power hitting that remains the standout batting performance recorded on 8 October in T20 history.

The same fixture offered contrasting fortunes, with Ali Khan claiming 3 for 24 for Trinbago against the Tallawahs. This date has also seen international milestones, including Muneeba Ali's 100 from 68 balls for Pakistan against Ireland in 2025.

Elsewhere in 2025, the Australia–South Africa T20I served up two gems: Tim David struck 83 off 52, while Kwena Maphaka answered with a superb 4 for 20 for the Proteas.

Coverage & definitionsCricsheet ball-by-ball · matches played on this date (UTC) · data through 24 October 2026Show ▾

Source. Ball-by-ball data from Cricsheet. New matches are loaded from Cricsheet twice a day (10:00 and 22:00 UTC), typically a day or two after a match is published there.

Internationals. T20 internationals are included only when both teams are ICC full members. Fixtures against Associate nations (e.g. Netherlands, Scotland, Nepal, USA) are not in the dataset, so international totals for players who faced them are lower than their full career figures. Afghanistan men's internationals are absent for a different reason: Cricsheet has withheld every match involving the Afghanistan men's team since 14 November 2024, so none of them can be loaded. Every full member's totals are lower by the matches they played against Afghanistan, and Afghanistan men's players do not appear at all. Afghanistan women's matches are unaffected.

Leagues. Leagues: IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL, SA20, MLC, ILT20, BPL, LPL, WBBL, WPL — full history of each. Domestic T20 competitions outside this list (e.g. the Blast, SMAT, Super Smash) are not included.

Exclusions. Super overs are excluded from every total. A match abandoned without a ball bowled has no ball-by-ball file and is not in the dataset, even where a toss took place and official records credit the named players with an appearance. M can therefore sit one or two below a player's official career figure. Match appearances (M) come from the playing XI in each match file, so a match where a player neither batted nor bowled still counts as an appearance. Where M is missing, that player's appearances have not been loaded yet.

"Best" innings and spells are ranked by runs and by wickets then runs conceded; a quiet date here is only quiet within this dataset.
