Men's T20: the most consistent run machines

In the shortest format, where recklessness is often rewarded and consistency rarely lasts, a small group of men's batters have managed something genuinely rare: piling up 2,000-plus runs while keeping a 35-plus average alongside a strike rate north of 130. It is the trifecta of volume, reliability and tempo across T20 internationals and the major franchise leagues.

Leading this exclusive club by average is Sai Sudharsan, who has scored 2,515 runs at a remarkable 48.37, striking at 149.17 across just 57 innings. That combination of restraint and acceleration sets him apart even in this company.

The heavy hitters of longevity anchor the list. KL Rahul boasts 7,800 runs at 43.09 (strike rate 138.99), while Virat Kohli towers over the field for sheer output with 13,176 runs from 383 innings, averaging 42.23 at 135.14. David Warner is the only other man past 12,000, with 12,269 runs at 38.10 and a strike rate of 140.25.

Between them sit a cluster of modern names announcing their class. Tilak Varma (3,288 runs, 39.61 average, 145.49 strike rate) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (3,447 runs at 38.73) blend youth with numbers, while Shubman Gill has amassed 5,419 runs at 37.90.

Experience is well represented too. Mahendra Singh Dhoni contributes 7,023 runs at 37.96, Devon Conway 4,147 at 37.36, and Brad Hodge 3,979 at 37.19. Jos Buttler pairs 10,473 runs with the group's second-highest tempo, a 146.82 strike rate at a 36.24 average.

The most explosive of the lot is Ryan Rickelton, whose 3,073 runs come at a scorching 157.75 strike rate, the fastest here, while still averaging 35.73. Together these twelve prove that in T20 cricket, dependability and destruction need not be strangers.
