The biggest run chases in men's T20

When it comes to chasing down mountains of runs, the top of the men's T20 list is a monument to fearless batting, and Punjab Kings sit right at its summit. Their pursuit of 265 against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in 2026 stands as the biggest successful chase across all competitions, an IPL night that redefined what a target really means.

Remarkably, Punjab Kings are one of two sides to appear twice on this list. Before that record run, they had already gunned down 262 against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in 2024, the second-highest chase on record. Sunrisers Hyderabad complete the double-act, hunting down 249 against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in 2026 and 247 against Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in 2025.

The IPL dominates, but international cricket and other leagues get their say. South Africa slot in third overall, chasing 259 against West Indies at SuperSport Park in 2023, the biggest of all in the T20I arena. Australia also feature, running down 245 against New Zealand at Eden Park in 2018.

The Big Bash chips in through Brisbane Heat, who chased 258 against Perth Scorchers at the Brisbane Cricket Ground in 2025. The PSL is represented twice, with Multan Sultans chasing 244 and Quetta Gladiators 243, both in 2023 and both at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, and intriguingly both at the expense of Peshawar Zalmi. The Caribbean rounds out the ten as St Kitts and Nevis Patriots chased 242 against Jamaica Tallawahs at Warner Park in 2019.
