When it comes to chasing down mountains of runs in men's T20 cricket, the batting side has never been bolder, and the leaderboard of the biggest successful pursuits proves just how far the format has been pushed.

Top of the pile sits Washington Freedom, who hunted down 270 against MI New York in Major League Cricket at the Oakland Coliseum in 2026 — the highest total ever reeled in across the game's major competitions. Just behind them, Punjab Kings chased 265 against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the 2026 IPL, underlining how the Indian Premier League dominates this list.

Punjab Kings are, in fact, one of two sides to appear twice. Beyond their 265, they also tracked down 262 against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in 2024, making them the most prolific chasers on the ledger. The other repeat name is Sunrisers Hyderabad, who gobbled up 249 against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in 2026 and 247 against Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in 2025.

International cricket is represented too. South Africa's 259 against West Indies at SuperSport Park in 2023 ranks as the fourth-biggest chase overall, while Australia's 245 against New Zealand at Eden Park in 2018 shows this is no recent phenomenon.

The Big Bash contributes Brisbane Heat's 258 against Perth Scorchers at the Brisbane Cricket Ground in 2025, and the Pakistan Super League rounds things off with two entries from Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in 2023 — Multan Sultans chasing 244 and Quetta Gladiators 243, both against a long-suffering Peshawar Zalmi.
